• • <br />MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA P~RTE CJTY COMNlSS/ON, LA PORTS, TEXAS <br />Aprii 3, 9967 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE CQMMISSlON PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners <br />Charles O. Boyle, Lois J. Compton, W. A. Stabs, Jr., and <br />Russell Shepherd. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COhdMISS/ON ABSENT: None <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Engineer H. Carlos Smith, City Attorney <br />Knox W. Askins, Fire Chief H. Gould Crofoot, and City Clerk Marilyn <br />Kelley. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. <br />+ + + <br />1. Minutes of the regular meefing of March 2Ci, 1967 were amended as <br />follows: <br />Item No. 6 - To Read - "A motton was made by Commisstoner Shepherd <br />and seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that Marilyn Kelley be authorized <br />to attend Finance Officers School, Aprii 23, 24, 25, in Austin. <br />Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />2. Mr. T©mmy Simpson, Vice-President of Art Simpson Funeral Home, Inc., <br />presented a letter of notice that they will discontinue their <br />ambulance service as of midnight, May 9, 1967. (See Exhibit No. 1). <br />He further stated that the funeral home will give to the City their <br />1965 International Ambulance and their 1966 Oldsmobile ambulance, <br />provided the City will assume the outstanding bank note of $2,700.00, <br />due against ft. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer thanked Mr. Simpson for the fine presentation, and <br />promised him that the City would make every effort to arrive at a <br />solution to the ambulance problem. <br />+ + + <br />3. Mr. Frank R. Boyle, Sr. presented a tatter regarding the Old Library <br />building, and stated that it seemed that the transaction is out of <br />focus. (See Exhibit No. 2). <br />The City Attorney stated that the City relied upon a letter received <br />on December 19, 9966, and on the strength of same, so acted. <br />
