M,. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor Pfeiffer, Commissioners <br />Bobby J. Burgin, Charles D. Boyle, Lois J. Compton, and <br />W. A. Stabs, Jr. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMM/SS/ON ABSENT: None <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: Ctty Attorney Knox VJ. Askins, City <br />Clerk Marilyn Kelley, City Engineer H. Carlos Smith, and <br />Chtef of Police N. F. Freeman. <br />PRESIDIPJG: Mayor Pfeiffer. <br />+ + + <br />9. The Commission met in special session to discuss the use of <br />private ambulance service for La Porte. <br />Mr. George Lunday presented a letter outlininn the qualifications <br />of the 8ayshore Ambulance Service. (See Exhibit No. 9) <br />Mr. Jess Navarra, Baytown Ambulance Service, expressed an <br />interest in serving the La Porte area. <br />Commtssioner Stabs Trade a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Boyle, that the City Attorney prepare an Ambulance Ordinance <br />setting guide lines for operating within the City of La Porte, <br />and that the City Clerk notify the Cities of Lomax, Shoreacres,, <br />and Morgan's Point, that the City will not furnish ambulance <br />service to their areas, after March 9, 9968. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />2. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Burgin, that the following purchases be approved: <br />Pak-Mor Corporation - Chain $ 379.50 <br />Pruitt Browning - Pipe 9,365.00 <br />Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />3. The following quotations for radios were presented: <br /> <br />Motorola Corporation .457.90 <br />General Electric 502.20 <br />
