MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTE CITY CGMM'ISSION, LA PORTE, TEXAS <br />June 3, 9968 <br />7 : 00 P. �'. <br />MEM,'BERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners <br />Charles D. Boyle, H. Gould Crofoot, and Lois J. Compton. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: Commissioner Burgin. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Attorney Knox W. Askins, City <br />Engineer H. Carlos Smith, and City Clerk Marilyn Kelley. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor 1-'feiffer. <br />9. The minutes of the regular meeting of May 20, 9968 were amended <br />as follows: <br />Item No. 2 - To read - "Commissioner Burgin made a motion, <br />seconded by Commissioner Crofoot, that the lot be sold to the <br />only bidder, Willard A. Long, for $100.00. Motion carried." <br />2. Jay Marks presented a Zett r of request for the use of the West <br />9' of 90th Street for parking. (See Exhibit No. 9). <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, seconded by Commissioner <br />Compton, and carried, that the West 9' of 90th street be allocated <br />for parking, as requested. <br />3. Ken Elliott thanked the Commission for the use of the ball park <br />for the La Porte 'Women's Softball team, and requested that they <br />be allowed to use it one night a week for practice, and for the <br />Fall league. <br />Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Crofoot, that the Women's Softball team be allowed to use the <br />ball field for practice and the Fall league, provided it does <br />ont conflict with the Little League schedule. Motion carried. <br />4. Commissioner Crofoot made a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Compton, and carried, that Ordinance No. 789 be passed on <br />first and final reading. <br />
