<br />,~ MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA f~RTE CITY COMMISSION, LA AORTE, TEXAS <br />January 20, 1969 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMAISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commisstoners <br />Charles O. Boyle, H. G. Crofoot, Bobby J. Burgin, and Lots J. <br />Compton. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Administrator P. V. Werner, City Clerk <br />Marilyn Kelley, City Attorney Knox W. Askins, Superintendent of <br />Streets Citfford EC1is, and Chief of Police N. F. Freeman. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. <br />+ + + <br />1. The minutes of the regular meeting held on January 6, 1969, and the <br />special meeting held on January 13, 1969, were approved as written. <br />+ + + <br />2. Mr. L. A. Patterson and Mr. C. R. Johnston, representing Southern <br />Pacific, expressed a desire to put in a railroad car storage yard <br />and requested that the streets and alleys in Blocks 619, E42, 655, <br />678, and a portion of 691, Town of La Porte, be closed. They were <br />advised of the procedures to be followed in regvesfing that streets <br />and alleys be closed. <br />A discussion was held regarding the Southern Pacific crosstngs <br />at Fairmont Parkway and Spencer Highway. Mr. Patterson stated <br />thaf he felt sure Southern Pacific would be willing to praticipate <br />in the cost of constructing crossing signals. <br />+ + + <br />3. Mr. Vernon Henry requested that the Commission consider a revtsion <br />to the Sub-division Ordinance, to allow for 20' building lines instead <br />of the usual 25'. He submitted suggested wording. (See Exhibif <br />No. 1). <br />Mayor Pfeiffer advised Mr. Henry that the Commission would take <br />his request under advisement. <br />+ + + <br />&9-5 <br />
