• <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING - MINUTES <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTS CITY COMM/SS/ON, LA PORTS, TEXAS <br />June 30, 9969 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners <br />E. A. Thomas, Charles D. Boyle, Bobby J. Burgin and H. Gould <br />Crofoot. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMhilSSlON ABSENT: None. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: Catty Clerk Marilyn Kelley, and City <br />Attorney Knox W. Askins. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. <br />+ + + <br />1. The City Administrator stated that Mrs. Virginia Cline will <br />begin working on July 9. <br />The City Attorney was instructed to prepare an ordinance <br />naming Mrs. Cline as City Clerk, and P. V. Werner as Director <br />of Finance. <br />+ + + <br />2. A motion was made by Commissioner Burgin, seconded by Commissioner <br />Crofoot that the City Administrator secure field note descriptions <br />for a possible Wafer District in the North portion of the Richard <br />Pearsall Tract. Motion carried. <br />+ + t <br />3. Commissioner Crofoot made a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Burgin, that the City Attorney be authorized to negoiate with <br />the School District to settle tax problems and to secure a <br />tax title to the remaining two lots at the new garbage dump <br />site. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />4. Commissioner Thomas made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Boyle <br />that the City proceed with the purchase of an air conditioning <br />u»it for the North Side Recreation Center, from Kling Air Conditioning <br />and further that installation of windows and insulation be approved. <br />Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />C, <br />
