<br />MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />• OF THE <br />LA PORTS CITY COMMISSION, LA PORTS, TEXAS <br />APRIL 19, 1971 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. Carlos Smith, <br />Commissioners E. A. Thomas, I. J. Kibodeaux, G. E. Sampson <br />and H. Gould Crofoot. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. <br /> <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: P. V. Werner, City Administrator; <br />Virginia Cline, City Clerk; Knox Askins, City Attorney; <br />Robert Cline, Director of Public Works and H. F. Freeman, <br />Chief of Police. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Smith. <br />+ + + <br />Invocation was offered by Commissioner Thomas. <br />1. Motion by Comm. Thomas, seconded by Comm. Crofoot <br />to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of <br />April 5, 1971 and the special meeting of April 12, <br />1971 as presented. Motion carried by the follow- <br />ing vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Sampson and <br />Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />2. Mrs. L. W. Knupple addressed the Commission in <br />regards to a fence around her front yard. She <br />stated the fence had been put up to keep her <br />small child off the street and she had received <br />a letter from the city advising her the fence <br />was in violation of the City Zoning Ordinance <br />and would have to be .removed by April 26th. <br />Mrs. Knupple presented a petition containing <br />• 195 names requesting the city to amend Section <br />13-205 C3) of the Zoning Ordinance to allow <br />fences around front yards. <br /> <br />
