• • <br />MINUTES - SPECIAL MEETING <br />• OF THE <br />LA PORTS CITY COMMISSION, LA PORTS, TEXAS <br />AUGUST 16, 191 <br />'7:00 P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. Carlos Smith, <br />Commissioners E.A.Thomas, I.J.Kibodeaux, G.E.Sampson, <br />and H. Gould Crofoot. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: P.V.Werner, City Administrator; <br />Virginia Cline, City Clerk and Robert Cline, Director of <br />Public Works. <br />• ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Ernest Brown, Mr. Carrington Weems, <br />Mr. Robert Randolph, Mr. Les McDonald of Baytown <br />Engineering and Mr. Dieter Ufer of Bayshore Engineering. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Smith. <br />+ + + <br />Invocation was offered by Commissioner Kibodeaux. <br />1. Mayor Smith stated the meeting had been called <br />to discuss one item and that was the creation <br />of the La Porte Utility District. <br />Mr. Ufer presented a feasibility report and <br />proposed plans for the district. <br />A lengthly discussion followed and several <br />citizens present voiced their opinions of <br />the creation of the District. <br />• Motion by Comm. Crofoot, seconded by Comm. Kibodeaux <br />that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried <br />
