AGREEMENT BETWEEN HARRIS COUNTY AND CITY OF LA PORTE FOR THE <br /> DEWALT HISTORIC SCHOOLHOUSE PROJECT <br /> I. RECITALS <br /> THIS AGREEMENT, is made and entered by and between Harris County, a body politic and <br /> corporate under the laws of the State of Texas, herein called the "Grantee," and the City of La <br /> Porte, a body politic and corporate under the laws of Texas,herein called,the"Subrecipient." <br /> WHEREAS, the Grantee has applied for and received funds from the United States Government <br /> under Title 1 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, Public Law 97-383 <br /> application number B-2013-UC-48-0002; CFDA 14.218; C2014-0043; <br /> WHEREAS, the primary purpose of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) <br /> Program, pursuant to Title 1 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, is to <br /> benefit low and moderate income individuals and families; <br /> WHEREAS,the Grantee and Subrecipient desire to enter into an agreement whereby the Grantee <br /> will grant CDBG funds to the Subrecipient for the purpose to redesign, renovate and expand the <br /> existing approximately 1,120sf former school building, bringing it up to current code, and adding <br /> 720sf to the building for a total of 1,840sf of useable area, which is an eligible activity under the <br /> rules and regulations regarding CDBG Program grant funds; <br /> WHEREAS,the Subrecipient has submitted an application to the Grantee for Program Year(PY) <br /> 2014 to implement the above-described Project and shall perform the activities in a manner <br /> satisfactory to the Grantee; <br /> WHEREAS, the Grantee wishes to engage the Subrecipient to assist the Grantee in utilizing <br /> CDBG funds; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Subrecipient shall ensure recognition of the role of the Grantee in providing <br /> services through this Agreement. All activities, facilities, and items utilized pursuant to this <br /> Agreement shall be prominently labeled as to funding source. In addition, the Subrecipient shall <br /> include reference to Harris County Community Services Department (HCCSD) for the support <br /> provided herein. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and agreements herein <br /> contained, it is agreed between the parties hereto that: <br />
