• MINUTES <br />OF THE <br />PUBLIC HEARING AND REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br />LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 15, 1984 <br />1. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Pro <br />Tem Linda Westergren. <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Pro Tem Westergren, <br />Councilpersons John Longley, Ed Matuszak, Lindsay Pfeiffer, <br />B. Don Skelton, Norman Malone <br />Members of City Council Absent: Councilpersons Kevin Graves, <br />Deotis Gay and .Mayor Virginia Cline <br />Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Jack Owen, City <br />Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Cherie Black, Director <br />of Administrative Services .Bob Herrera, Graduate Engineer <br />John Joerns, Fire Chief Joe Sease, Assistant Fire Chief John <br />• Dunham, Police Lt. James Lafitte, Assistant Director of Public <br />Works Luther Maxey, Purchasing Agent Jackson Ray, Administra- <br />five Intern Doug de la Morena <br />Others Present: Al Blackford; Ginger Thompson, president of <br />Brookglen Community Improvement Association; Arlene Arends, <br />Bayshore Sun-Broadcaster; Sig Christenson, Baytown Sun; 3 <br />citizens <br />2. The invocation was given by City Attorney Askins. <br />3. Council considered approving the minutes of the regular meeting <br />of City Council held February 1, 1984. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to approve the minutes <br />of the February 1 meeting as presented. Second by Councilperson <br />P ei er. The motion carried, 5 ayes, 0 nays, l abstain. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Matuszak, Pfeiffer, Skelton, Malone and <br />Mayor Pro Tem Westergren <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Councilperson Longley (was not present at Feb. 1 meeting).. <br />Councilperson Gay arrived at the Council table at 7:04 P.M. <br />r 1 <br />U <br />
