<br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />llq~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING A BOARD OF EQUALIZATION COMPOSED OF <br />THREE MEMBERS; SETTING THE DATE OF ITS FIRST MEETING; AND <br />PRESCRIBING ITS POWERS AND DUTIES; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, <br />TEXAS THAT: <br /> <br />Section I. There hereinafter named three residents, <br /> <br />each of whom is a qualified voter and real property owner <br /> <br />in the City of La Porte, are hereby appointed to the Board <br /> <br />of Equalization for a one-year term, or until their successors <br /> <br />shall have been appointed: <br /> <br />FRED E. WESTERGREN, JR. <br /> <br />CHARLES D. BOYLE <br /> <br />FRED BECK <br /> <br />Section 2. Such Board of Equalization shall choose <br /> <br />from its membership a Chairman. The City Tax Assessor-Collector <br /> <br />shall be ex-officio Secretary of the Board. A majority of said <br /> <br />Board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. <br /> <br />The Board of Equalization shall hold its first meeting at a <br /> <br />time to be set by it, on the lOth day of March, 1980, or as soon <br /> <br />thereafter as practicable. <br /> <br />Section 3. The Board of Equalization shall have all <br /> <br />of the powers and duties prescribed by Article VIII, Section 76 <br /> <br />through 79, both inclusive, of the City Charter of the City of <br /> <br />La Porte. <br /> <br />Section 4.
