<br />e e <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1146 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PROVISIONS OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES <br />CONCERNING DEMOLITION OF BUILDINGS AND OTHER STRUCTURES; PROVIDING <br />THAT THE PERMIT FEE SHALL BE TEN DOLLARS ($10.00); PROVIDING <br />THAT EACH APPLICANT SHALL FILE A ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR ($1,000.00) <br />CASH BOND; PROVIDING THAT PERMITS AUTOMATICALLY TERMINATE AT <br />SIXTY (60) DAYS FROM ISSUANCE; PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING <br />THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR <br />AND UPON CONVICTION SHALL BE FINED IN A SUM NOT MORE THAN TWO <br />HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00); PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section 1. Section 8-146 of the Code of Ordinances, City <br /> <br /> <br />~ of La Porte, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 8-146. Fee. <br /> <br />"Each applicant shall pay a fee of Ten Dollars ($10.00) <br />for each permit issued under this Division." <br /> <br />Section 2. Section 8-147 of the Code of Ordinances, City <br /> <br />of La Porte, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 8-147. Applicant's bond. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />"At the time of making an application for a permit under <br />this Division, the applicant shall file with the build- <br />ing inspector a five hundred dollar ($500.00) cash bond, <br />where the applicant is a contractor, or a two hundred fifty <br />dollar ($250.00) cash bond, where the applicant is the <br />owner of the property. The bond shall be conditioned <br />that the principal, if granted a permit, will accomplish <br />such demolition in strict accordance with the terms of <br />this article, and will pay to the City any expense incurred <br />by it in eliminating fire hazards or other conditions <br />created by such demolition which are detrimental to the <br />public welfare. Such bond shall be made payable to the <br />City and shall inure to the benefit of any person damaged <br />or injured, in any manner, by the principal obligor by <br />reason of such demolition, except the agents, servants or <br />employees of the principal obligor." <br /> <br />Section 3. section 8-151 of the Code of Ordinances, City <br /> <br />of La Porte, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 8-151. Expiration. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />"Any permit issued under this Division shall automatically <br />terminate sixty (60) calendar days, from and after its <br />issuance, unless extended or renewed by further applica- <br />tion to the building inspector." <br />
