<br />.. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />tPet- ,R.G; /96..r <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1'~ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte is situated between the <br />Harris County Navigation District's Houston ship channel and <br />Bayport ship channel; and <br />WHEREAS, many local and national industrial companies <br />have constructed and are presently operating substantial manu- <br />facturing facilities within and near the City of La Porte; and <br />WHEREAS, the. location of these manufacturing facilities <br />in and near the City of La Porte has provided employment oppor- <br />tunities for its citizens, and has otherwise materially contributed <br />to the economic well-being of the City of La Porte; and <br />~mEREAS, the management and employees of the various <br />industrial concerns in the La Porte area have been active in the <br /> <br />civic, cultural, educational, and religious life of the City, and <br />have helped to make the City of La Porte a better place in which <br /> <br />to live; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commissioners of the City <br />of La Porte deem it appropriate to recognize the many contributions <br />of area industrial concerns to the betterment of La Porte; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />That the month of November, 1965, be, and it is hereby <br />. proclaimed as IILA PORTE INDUSTRY APPRECIATION MONTHII, in recogni- <br />tion of the many benefits derived by the City of La Porte and its <br />residents, by reason of the location and operation of the several <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />industrial concerns in the La Porte area~ and the economic and <br /> <br />other benefits which the City of La Porte and its residents derive <br /> <br />from said industries. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City <br /> <br />Commissioners of the City of La Porte go on record as encouraging <br />and supporting the operation and future expansion of existing <br />industrial concerns, and as encouraging the location and construc- <br />tion of additional industrial concerns in the City of La Porte. <br />
