<br />-- <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1530 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS OF CERTAIN <br />STREETS AND ALLEYS IN THE TOWN OF LA PORTE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has been <br /> <br />requested by the record owner of all of the property abutting portions <br /> <br />of certain streets and alley, described on Exhibit IIAII, attached <br /> <br />hereto and fully incorporated by references herein; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has determined, <br /> <br />and does hereby find, determine and declare that the hereinafter <br /> <br />described rights-of-way are not suitable, needed, or beneficial to <br /> <br />the public as public alleys, roads or streets, and that the closing <br /> <br />of the hereinafter described portions of said rights-of-way is for <br /> <br />the protection of the public and for the public interest and benefit, <br /> <br />and that the hereinafter described portions of said rights-of-way <br /> <br />should be vacated, abandoned, and permanently closed. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section I. Under and by virtue of the power granted to the City <br /> <br />of La Porte under its Home Rule Charter and Chap. 13, Title 28, Art. <br /> <br />1175, of the Revised Civil Statutes of the State of Texas, 1925, the <br /> <br />hereinafter described rights-of-way lying wholly within the boundaries <br /> <br />of the City of La Porte are hereby permanently vacated, abandoned, <br /> <br />and closed by the City of La Porte, to-wit: <br /> <br />TRACT ONE: <br /> <br />That portion of the right-of-way of South 7th Street, <br />extending from the South right-of-way of South S <br />street, to the South right-of-way of South T Street, <br />and being that portion of the right of way of South <br />7th Street lying and being situated between Block <br />1267 and Block l268, Town of La Porte, Harris County, <br />Texas, and containing 28,800 square feet. <br /> <br />TRACT TWO: <br /> <br />-That portion of the right-of-way of South T Street, <br />being 80 foot in width, being adjacent to the south <br />boundary line of Block 1267, Town of La Porte, Harris <br />County, Texas, and extending from the east right-of- <br />way line of South 7th Street, to the west right-of-way <br /> <br />Revised 2-23-87 <br />
