COUNTY OF HARRIS I CITY OF LA PORTE : AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE DISCHARGE OF AN AIR~UN, OR ANY OTHER SIMILAR TYPE WEAPON, ACTUATED BY CONDENSED AIR OR ANY OTHER FORCE OF SUFFICIENT IMPELLING POWER TO CAUSE BODILY INJURY, WITHIN THE LBm'S OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, OR FROM ANY AREA NOT FAR ENOUGH REMOVED FROM SAID CITY LIMITS TO PRECLUDE THE RANGE OF SUCH WEAPON FROM EXTENDING INTO SUCH LIMITS, AND PRESCRIBING A FINE NOT TO EXCEED $5.00 FOR THE; FAILURE OR REFUSAL TO COMPLY ~ITH THIS ORDINANCE. .' .- -_.~ ~ BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISION OF THE CITY OF LA PORT,E: '\e SECTION ONE: That the discharging of an air-gun or any other similar type weapon, actuated by condensed air or aqy other force of sufficient impelling power to cause bodi~ injury, within the limits of the City of 1a Porte, Texas', or from any area not far enough removed from said City limits to preclude the range of such weapon from extending into such lil'llits, is hereby prohibited. SECTION TWO: That whenever aqy person shall discharge, cause to be discharged, /""-....... ._" or permit to be discharged, such a gun or weapon as herein defined, and in viola- tion of Section One hereof, such person..shall be fined in an amount not to ex- ceed $5.ooj and each and every act of discharging of such a gun or weapon within the limits of the City of La Porte, Texas, shall constitute a distinct and separate offense. SECTION THREE: That the danger to phYSical welfare occassioned and brought about by careless discharge of such guns and weapons by children within the limits of the City is to such an extent that an emergency is declared to exist, and, because of public welfare, it is further declared that this Ordinance become effective immediately upon the passage thereot. SECTION FOUR: None ,of the provisions herein contained shall be construed so as . to prohibit the discharge ot such guns or weapons by a person upon his own ../" private property 1Ihen the gun or weapon is discharged in such a manner that the projectile thereof will not travel beyond the property line of such person ... --:--...... and in the event a device, is designed for the purpose of stopping such pro- jectiles within the boundaries of such person's property, then and in such
