LA PORTE FIRE CONTROL BOARD MEETING AGENDA <br />Thursday, February 13, 2025, 6:00 p.m. <br />Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Fire Control, Prevention, and EMS District Board of <br />Directors to be held on February 13, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at 125 South 3rd Street, La Porte, Texas, for <br />the purpose of considering the following agenda items. All agenda items are subject to action. <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />2. CITIZEN COMMENT <br />(Generally limited to five minutes per person; in accordance with state law, the time may be <br />reduced if there is a high number of speakers or other considerations.) <br />3. CONTINUATION REFERENDUM <br />Presentation, discussion, and possible action to adopt a resolution ordering a continuation <br />referendum election for the La Porte Fire Control, Prevention, and Emergency Services <br />District to be held on the May 3, 2025, uniform election date. <br />4. JOINT ELECTION AGREEMENT/ELECTION SERVICES CONTRACT <br />Presentation, discussion, and possible action to approve a joint election agreement/election <br />services contract between the Fire Control, Prevention and EMS District and the City of La <br />Porte, Texas, for the City of La Porte, Texas, to conduct the District's May 3, 2025, special <br />election for a continuation referendum. <br />5. BOARD COMMENT <br />(Hear announcements concerning items of community interest; and/or inquiries of staff <br />regarding specific factual information or existing policy from members or staff, for which no <br />formal action will be discussed.) <br />S. ADJOURN <br />If, during the course of the meeting and discussion of any items covered by this notice, the <br />Fire Control, Prevention, and EMS District Board of Directors determines that a closed or <br />executive session is required, then such closed meeting will be held as authorized by Texas <br />Government Code, Chapter 551. If a closed or executive session is held, the Board will <br />reconvene in open session in order to take action, if necessary, on the items addressed <br />during executive session. <br />Persons with disabilities who plan to attend this meeting and who may need auxiliary aids or <br />services are requested to contact the Fire Department office (281-470-5183), three working <br />days prior to the meeting for appropriate arrangements. <br />
