CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Engelken at 6:00 p.m. <br />Members of the Committee Present: Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Chuck Engelken, <br />Howard Ebow, and Peter Griffiths <br />Members Absent: None <br />Members of City Executive Staff and City Employees Present: Assistant City Manager <br />John Joerns, Assistant City Secretary Sharon Harris, Administrative Assistant of City <br />Manager Crystal Scott, and Mayor Norman Malone <br />Others Present: Bill Scott, Charlie Jenkins, Richard Atherton, Diane Atherton, Tom <br />Kornegay <br />2. Members considered approving the Minutes of the Committee Meeting of February 4, <br />2002. <br />Motion was made b~Councilperson Sutherland to approve the minutes of the Committee <br />Meeting on Februa~ 4, 2002 as presented. Second by Councilperson Griffiths. The <br />motion carried. <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />3. PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND CITIZENS AND <br />TAXPAYERS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE PORT OF HOUSTON EXPANSION <br />REVIEW COMMITTEE <br />Bill Scott of 1802 Lomax School Road, La Porte, Texas 77571, addressed the Committee. <br />Charlie Jenkins, Project Manager of the Port of Houston Authority, answered questions <br />from the Bayport Expansion Review Committee. <br />3. NEW BUSINESS <br />There was no new business. <br />4. COMMITTEE COMMENTS <br />Councilperson Sutherland is concerned about the effect the Expansion would have on <br />Highway 146. Chairman Engelken is concerned about the noise, light and air pollution. <br />
