NUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />LA PORTE CITE COUNCIL <br />JU"E , 194b, ~:1~5: P, NI, <br />3`7~ <br />Meeting was called to order by A~a.yor Ruff -with the following <br />Aldermen and City Officials present: Ald. J. N, Johnson, <br />T. F, Smith, Geo. F. Norris, J. L, Dunham, City Atty. Kiibler <br />and City Engineer Kelly. A. E. Fascett, Jr. of Texas eater <br />~~ells, Inc. and .~. R, Pier of Brov~m & Root, Inc. were also <br />present. <br />The r+~ayor stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss <br />the new water well and water line extension, the contamination <br />in the line and the operation of the well. <br />C. fl. Kelly, Engineer explained that an air valve would be <br />necessary to make well operate properly and will proh~..bly <br />take 1~ to 10 months to secure valve. Mr, Fawcett recommended <br />that the valve on well be cut down to agproximatcly 2 which <br />would give temporary relief, <br />The Council instructed I~Ir. Fawcett to secure the data and cost <br />on type of air valve needed and submit to the Council later. <br />Mr. Fawcett and T+ir. Pier agreed that their Company's would each <br />pay 2 of the cost of eliminAt ing contamination of line. By <br />agreement, the final t~11i,e best of line was set for June 17, <br />lgl~6. <br />The Council instructed Mr. Pier to orde°r 1~0 yards of pea <br />r~ravel to be used on City streets. <br />Motion by* I~Torris, second by Smith, that the meeting adjourn. <br />Carried, <br />ec~y, ity of .~ orte, xss <br />~~!/ <br />
