Burgin, <br />ti~rith the, follo~~ring members and. city officials presentt: Commissioners L. R. Rigby <br />and Robert A. ~7hite, City Attorney Edward J. Cade, City E~igineer A. H. Moore , <br />Supt . of Public l~Tar~ks W. A. Arthur, and City Clerk J.E. Muldoon. <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />Mrs. brie st Searunen appeared before the Commission and w anted to knoi~r if Sher trees <br />on South 8th Street would have to be moved.. _ <br />The Commission told her they were reasonably sure the trees mere in the right-of ~ra`y. <br />She then wanted to kna-r if the City ~rould transplant them. It was brought out in <br />the discus lion that the trees r•,rere old and it ~das doubtful whether they would <br />live if transplanted:. Also, the City did not want to start a precedent in movir~ <br />trees. They, however,, advised her they would shoes her every reasonably consider- <br />ation. _ <br />A discussion was held~rith Mr. A. B. Moore, City k~gineer, on the Street Program. <br />The Commission asked Mr. Moore what progress he zrras malflng ti~ith the State Iii.gha~ay <br />Department on the school plans fcm paving and drainage on Highuray ].?a.6. <br />Mr. Pdoore stated he had several conversations tirlth the school officials, but had <br />failed to get the locations where they wanted their driveways. He further <br />stated after this meeting he would go• over to the school, and try to get this <br />inf ar~mation. Upon receipt of this inf ormation he would personally take the plans <br />to the Stato Higl~~ay Department in Houston. <br />The Commission unanimously instructed the City Clerk to return y~25.00 deposit <br />far City Hall plans put up by Mann Construction,Comp~ar~y, Pasadena, Texas, Post <br />Office Box 1063, when..he returned the plans .and specifications. <br />Pdotion by Rigby, second by VJhi.te, authorizing the B.~ and F. Ditching Company <br />to construct a 6" sewer line from "H" Street through Block 276, and part of <br />Block 267, at v~1.00 per lineal foot. •~ <br />Carried. <br />The Mayes called upon ,Co~aissioner Rigby far his recor~¢nendation on the water <br />line that eras requested by Pd'x's. Bertha Cook, to her property in Lot I~., Nebraska <br />Syndicate. <br />After much discussion:,, upon motion by Rigby, second by Z~llv.te, to extend the <br />present 2" line to the City limit line, approximately 1125', pending Mrs. Cook <br />signing contract for extension of line to her property. <br />'~j , ~ ~ ~ ,~~ ~ ~ Carried. <br />~~ ~~~° ~ <br />
