Burgin, with the follor~tng members and city officials present: Commissioners L. R. Rigby and Robert A. white, Edgard Cade, City Attorney, and J. E. Muldoon, City Clerk. This meeting m as called for the purpose of ascertaining the City's cost in participation v~I.th the County on nJ" Street, and also to a scertain if street assessments ~rere needed, Mr. Kyle Chapman, County Coaanissioner, and Mr. Ray Ballarrtyne also attended this meeting. Mr. Chapman stated he ~ uld pave Eighth, "E", and Blacktrell Streets with no cost to the City. Mr. Chapman further stated he vo uld also pave "J" Street from Eighth to Broactaay if the City furnished the base material in the approain:ate amount of 2,t~50 tons, and the City furnish curving Right-Of~ay in the south- ~est career of Block 173, La Porte -approximately 68t x 68~ or 0.023 acres. The City agreed to furnish the material a¢:d Right-Of~lay. ~Tr. Ballantyne agreed to let the City have the material for this project at his cost. After much discussion about the cost of the paving, drainage, paving assessments, etc., the Commission voted unanimously not to place paving assessments against any of the properi~y' rnmers for the proposed Paving and I~ainage Program. They are, however, to pay for the cost of ne~v culverts,i a if they do not have the proper size, less credit given by the City for their old culverts~if in good condition. .~., ,, Carried.
