The Joint Public hearing of the La Porte City Council and <br />the Planning and Zoning Commission was called to order at <br />7:00 P.M. by Mayor Meza <br />Members of the City Council Present: Mayor Meza, Council- <br />persons Norman L. Malone, John Longley, Gus Faris, Douglas <br />Latimer, Tom Simons, Deotis Gay, Don Skelton and Linda <br />Westergren <br />Members of the City Council Absent: None <br />• Members of Planning & Zoning Commission Present: Karl Johnston, <br />R. J. Blackwell, E. F. Red" Westen, Da lie Wright, Ragan <br />Franks <br />Members of Planning & Zoning Commission Absent: Chairperson <br />Pat Muston, due to her involvement with the sale of one of <br />the properties to be rezoned <br />Members of the City Staff Present: City Manager Jack Owen, <br />City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Betty T. Waters, <br />Graduate Engineer John Joerns, Assistant Police Chief Robert <br />Hall, Public Works Director Jerry Hodge, Parks Director <br />Stan Sherwood, Fire Chief Joe Sease, Fire Marshal Paul Hicken- <br />bottom <br />Others Present: Betsy Webber, Bayshore Sun; Frieda Beaty, <br />Baytown Sun; a representative from the Southeast Weekly; <br />Jim Hutchison of Busch, Hutchison & Associates; Eugene Hovey, <br />and 28 interested citizens <br />2.
