CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Rigby called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Members of Council present: <br />Councilmembers Kaminski, Clausen, Earp, Leonard, Engelken, Zemanek, Moser and Martin. Also <br />present were City Secretary Patrice Fogarty, City Manager Corby Alexander, and Assistant City <br />Attorney Clark Askins. <br />2. INVOCATION - The invocation was given by Brian Christen, La Porte Community Church. <br />3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilmember Jay Martin. <br />4. PRESENTATIONS, PROCLAMATIONS, and RECOGNITIONS <br />(a) Recognition - Certificate of Appreciation - La Porte Community Civic Club - Mayor Rigby <br />Mayor Rigby recognized members of the La Porte Community Civic Club for their outstanding <br />work and dedication to the community during the Juneteenth festivities and throughout the year. <br />Charlie Perry thanked the Police Department and the Parks and Recreation Department for <br />their assistance and reported that the La Porte Community Civic Club has been functioning for <br />35 years. <br />(b) Recognition - The City of La Porte TAMI Award Recipient - Mayor Rigby <br />Mayor Rigby recognized the City of La Porte for receiving the Texas Association of Municipal <br />Information Officers Gold TAMI award for the category "Best. One Time Special Event" - <br />Centennial Celebration of the Commissioning of the Battleship TEXAS. Jaree Hefner, Marketing <br />and Public Relations Specialist, accepted the award. <br />(c) Recognition - "Employee of the (Second) Quarter'- Brian Sterling - Mayor Rigby <br />Mayor Rigby recognized Brian Sterling for receiving "Employee of the (Second) Quarter." <br />5. PUBLIC COMMENTS (Limited to five minutes per person.) <br />There were no public comments. <br />6. CONSENT AGENDA (All consent agenda items are considered routine by City Council and will be enacted <br />by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Councilmember requests an <br />item be removed and considered separately.) <br />(a) Consider approval or other action regarding the minutes of the regular city council meeting <br />held on July 14, 2014. - P.
