JAY MARTIN A��^ 0 CHUCK ENGELKEN <br /> Chairman � Member <br /> v STEVE GILLETT <br /> DANNY EARP <br /> Vice-Chairman � — Alternate Member <br /> MINUTES OF THE DRAINAGE AND FLOODING COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> FEBRUARY 10, 2020 <br /> The Drainage and Flooding Committee of the City of La Porte met on Monday, February 10, 2020, at the City Hall <br /> Council Chambers, 604 West Fairmont Parkway, La Porte, Texas, at 5:00 p.m. to consider the following items of <br /> business: <br /> Committee Members present: Jay Martin, Chuck Engelken, Danny Earp, (Alternate Gillett available if needed) <br /> Committee Members absent: None <br /> Council-appointed officers present: Corby Alexander, City Manager; Lee Woodward, City Secretary <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER-Chairman Martin called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. <br /> 2. CITIZEN COMMENT(Generally limited to five minutes per person, in accordance with state law,the time may be reduced <br /> if there is a high number of speakers or other considerations. <br /> Kevin Lewis spoke about issues in the watershed around his home in Bay Harbor. <br /> 3. STATUTORY AGENDA <br /> (a) Approve minutes of the meeting held on January 13, 2020. [Chairman Martin] <br /> Committee member Engelken moved to approve the minutes; the motion was adopted. 3-0. <br /> (b) Presentation, discussion, and possible in connection with receipt of a report regarding the Harris County <br /> Flood Control District's (HCFCD) and Harris County Precinct 2's current and future plans relating to <br /> flooding in the City of La Porte. [Lorenzo Wingate,Assistant Director of Public Works] <br /> Mr. Wingate said he expected there would be HCFCD action by March. <br /> (c) Presentation, discussion, and possible action regarding the Bayside Terrace Subdivision Improvements <br /> Project. [Lorenzo Wingate, Assistant Director of Public Works] <br /> Mr. Wingate provided a proposal for engineering services regarding the Bayside Terrace Subdivision from Halff <br /> Associates, chosen via RFQ and expected to be on the February 24 City Council agenda. <br /> (d) Presentation, discussion, and possible action regarding the status of current drainage projects. [Lorenzo <br /> Wingate,Assistant Director of Public Works] <br /> Mr. Lewis was allowed to speak about the experience in his neighborhood. Mr. Wingate reported on the work being <br /> done and Chairman Martin let Mr. Lewis know that there would be an update at next month's meeting. Committee <br /> Member Earp requested an update on the desilting for the Lomax/F101 area. Ray Mayo, Public Works Director, <br /> said work was being done on approximately 2000' of ditch at the airport. <br /> (e) Presentation, discussion, and possible action to provide staff with direction, if necessary, regarding <br /> additional drainage concerns.
