<br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />LETTER OF AGREEMENT <br /> <br />This is an Agreement made as of November 13, 1995 between the city <br />of La Porte (owner) and Jimmy D. Dunham, P.E. (Engineer). <br /> <br />Owner intends for Engineer to provide professional engineering <br />services in connection with the preparation of plans and <br />specifications, bidding and awarding a contract, and construction <br />phase services, including on-site inspectional services, for the <br />repair work to Owner's 400,000 gallon elevated water storage tank <br />located on South 4th Street (Project). <br /> <br />Required work is detailed in Reports of Inspection prepared by <br />Engineer and dated September 22, 1993. A general description of <br />the Project is the repainting of the inside and outside of the <br />water storage structure at South 4th Street as well as certain <br />structural repairs and modifications. It is understood that lead <br />abatement procedures will be necessary. <br /> <br />SCOPE OF BASIC ENGINEERING SERVICES: <br /> <br />Engineer agrees to provide the following professional services: <br />Desiqn Phase <br /> <br />Meet with Owner to discuss proposed project, and reinspect Project <br />to insure the conditions remain the same as when last inspected in <br />1993. Engineer will discuss with Owner the condition of the tower, <br />applicable AWWA specifications, TNRCC regulations, lead abatement <br />procedures, recommended paint system(s), as well as any options <br />available for coatings and other aspects of the Project. At that <br />time, Owner will make any special requirements known to Engineer. <br /> <br />Provide two (2) draft sets of Plans and Specifications to Owner <br />within thirty (30) days of Notice to Proceed, and meet with Owner <br />to discuss scope of work and any changes requested by Owner. <br /> <br />Finalize Plans and Specifications, based on meeting and written <br />comments from Owner, within thirty (30) days and provide two (2) <br />sets of final plans and specifications with updated cost estimate. <br /> <br />Secure all regulatory approvals necessary. <br /> <br />Biddinq Phase <br /> <br />Provide and distribute copies of plans and specifications to <br />interested bidders. <br />
