<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />LETTER OF AGREEMENT <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Assist the Owner with preparation of legal advertizement, and <br />advertize the work directly to selected bidders and at least two <br />(2) contractor clearing houses. <br /> <br />Attend and conduct a prebid meeting at Owner's offices, and clarify <br />any questions or concerns from interested contractors. Prepare and <br />distribute any addenda necessary to clarify questions raised at <br />prebid meeting. <br /> <br />Attend bid opening, prepare bid tabulation, and provide written <br />recommendation for award of bid to contractor. <br /> <br />Construction Phase <br /> <br />Attend and conduct preconstruct ion conference with Owner and <br />Contractor prior to beginning construction. <br /> <br />Provide construction phase services, including interpreting <br />contract documents, process contractor pay requests, prepare change <br />orders as required, and certify completion of contract. <br /> <br />Receive, evaluate and approve all submittals and shop drawing <br />required by the contract documents. <br /> <br />Make two (2) inspections to ensure compliance with the <br />specifications. One will be a preconstruct ion conference. The <br />second will be a final inspection to ensure completion of work. <br /> <br />Provide and interpret all necessary tests of spent blasting <br />material to ensure compliance with lead regulations. <br /> <br />COMPENSATION FOR BASIC SERVICES: <br /> <br />The above basic services (design, bidding and construction phase) <br />shall be compensated at the lump sum price of eighteen thousand <br />dollars ($18,000). This sum shall become due in accordance with <br />the following schedule: <br /> <br />Design <br />50% due when draft documents provided <br />25% due when final documents provided <br />Design Subtotal <br />Bidding <br />10% due when bid recommendation provided <br />Construction <br />10% due during construction <br />5% due upon final acceptance <br />Construction Subtotal <br /> <br />$9,000.00 <br />4.500.00 <br /> <br />$13,500.00 <br />$ 1,800.00 <br /> <br />$1,800.00 <br />900.00 <br /> <br />Total Basic Engineering Fees <br /> <br />S 2.700.00 <br />$18,000.00 <br />
