Frio <br />SaD Antonio, Texas 78207 <br />(210) 207-7076 <br /> <br />Project Status: <br /> <br />Open <br /> <br />Project Description: <br /> <br />County-Wide, Multi-Agency 800 MHz Trunked <br />Radio System <br /> <br />The City of San Antonio retained RCC to develop a new county-wide 800 MHz trunked radio system to replace <br />their existing 10-year old syste~. The new system will be capable of supporting approximately 6,000 radios, <br />belonging to approximately 24 Public Safety and Public Service agencies of both the City of San Antonio and Bexar <br />Cpunty. New aispatch centers for the San Antonio Police Deparbnent, the San Antonio Fire and EMS Deparbnent, <br />and the Bexar County Sheriff's Office are being completed as part of the project. The new system has been <br />configured to provide greater capacity and coverage than the existing trunked radio system. <br /> <br />The City of San Antonio chose RCC to conduct the initial (phase I) Needs Assessment, alternatives analysis, <br />development of conceptual design, and budgetary cost estimates, and then retained RCC in a Phase II project to <br />develop and issue specifications for a Request for Proposals, to evaluate proposals, and to assist in contract <br />negotiations. The Requests for Proposals process has been completed, RCC evaluated proposals, and the City has <br />awarded a $50 million contract to Ericsson, Inc. for a 9-site IMBE digital trunked radio system. <br /> <br />RCC has been retained to provide Phase III Project Management of System Implementation. To provide continuity <br />to this process, RCC has assigned a full-time on-site Project Manager who resides in San Antonio for the duration of <br />system installation, acceptance testing and cutover. <br /> <br />Rev, 9/9/99 <br /> <br />RCC Consultants, Inc. <br />Selected Projects <br />
