The project has been subdivided into three <br />phases, which include: <br />. <br /> <br />. Phase I - Needs Assessment, Conceptual System Design, and Budgetary Cost Estimates <br /> <br />· Phase II - Detail system design, development of specifications for procurement, evaluation of vendor <br />proposals, and vendor selection <br /> <br />· Phase III - Project Implementation, acceptance testing, and cutover to the new system <br /> <br />RCC Consultants and the Coalition of agencies completed a thorough Needs Assessment to identify user <br />requirements for the new system. It is the intent of the Coalition to develop a single shared network that would be <br />capable of meeting the needs of all user agencies, which wiJI collectively operate approximately 8,000 radios at <br />system startup. At the completion of the Needs Assessment process, RCC Consultants worked with Coalition <br />agencies to develop several conceptual solutions and budgetary cost estimates, which were presented to the Austin <br />City Council and Travis County Commissioner's Court for approval. <br /> <br />The City of Austin held a Bond Election in which approximately $40,000,000 was approved for development of the <br />new system. Total funding of the project is $65 miJIion. RCC Consultants assisted the Coalition in developing <br />system specifications and releasing a Request for Proposals.
