CITY OF LA PORTE <br />BOARDS, COMMITTEES AND COMMISSIONS SCHEDULE AND <br />PROCEDURE FOR <br />RECRUITMENT, APPOINTMENT AND NOTIFICArION PROCESS <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE WILL MAKE <br />APPOINTMENTS FOR TERMS EXPIRING ON AUGUST 30m OF THE YEAR <br />INDICATED. <br /> <br />SCHEDULEIPROCEDURES: <br /> <br />APRIL <br /> <br />. Boards and Commissions Handbook and application form is updated and printed <br />by the City Secretary, <br /> <br />. A memorandum is sent by the City Secretary to each department inquiring as to <br />whether or not there have been any attendance problems with members of a <br />committee, board or commission member, <br /> <br />MA Y/JUNE - (The annual appointment process will not begin until all Council <br />members have been elected in the General and Run-Off Elections) <br /> <br />. Mayor and City Secretary will meet with any newly elected Council Members and <br />explain the boards and commissions process, <br /> <br />. The City Secretary will provide City Council with list of all current and members . <br />whose terms of appointment are expiring on August 30. The list will indicate <br />vacancies. applicants eligible for reappointment. single member district <br />appointments. and appointments made by the entire body of City Council. <br /> <br />. Current appointees whose terms of appointment expire in August are identified, <br /> <br />. The City Secretary will inform City Council of attendance problems of any <br />committee, board or commission member. <br /> <br />. The City Secretary will forward City Council members a copy of any applications <br />received by citizens since the last appointment process. The type of board, <br />committee or commission the citizen is requesting to serve on is noted on the <br />application, <br /> <br />. Enabling ordinances will also be forwarded to City Council as needed, <br />
