Both principal of and interest on this <br /> <br />bond are payable in lawful money of the United States of America, <br /> <br />without exchange or collection charges to the owner or holder, at the <br /> <br />First National Bank, La Porte, Texas. The principal hereof shall be <br /> <br />payable only upon presentation and surrender of this bond, and <br /> <br />interest falling due on and prior to maturity of this bond shall be <br /> <br />payable only upon presentation and surrender of the interest coupons <br /> <br />hereto attached as they severally become due. <br /> <br />THE DATE OF THIS BOND, in conformity with the ordinance herein- <br /> <br />after mentioned, is September 15, 1959. <br /> <br />THIS BOND IS ONE OF A SERIES OF 60 BONDS of like tenor and effect, <br /> <br /> <br />except as to number, maturity, and interest rate, being numbered from <br /> <br />1 to 60, both inclusive, in the denomination of $1,000 each, aggre- <br /> <br />gating $60,000, and, together with the other bonds of said series, <br /> <br />is issued for the acquisition of a capital project, to-wit: purchasing <br /> <br />and/or improving lands for park purposes, under and by virtue of the <br /> <br />Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, particularly Chapters 1 <br /> <br />and 7 of Title 22, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, as amended, <br /> <br />and the City Charter of said City, particularly Article VI thereof, <br /> <br />and by authority of a majority vote of the duly qualified resident <br /> <br />electors of said City who owned taxable property within said City <br /> <br />and who had duly rendered the same for taxation at an election held <br /> <br />- 4 - <br />
