<br />., <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE No.5 88 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE DISANNEXING THE CERTAIN HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED <br /> <br />TERRITORY FROM THE CITY OF LAPORTE; PROVIDING THAT SAID TERRITORY <br />WILL NO LONGER BE CONSIDERED A PART OF THE CITY OF LAPORTE FOR ANY <br /> <br />PURPOSES; PROVIDING IN ALL OTHER RESPECTS THAT THE LIMITS OF THE <br />CITY OF LAPORTE SHALL REMAIN UNCHANGED; PROVIDING A SEVERABLE CLAUSE; <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FIXING EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE ORDINANCE. <br /> <br />WHEREASJ certain vacant and unimproved property presently <br />located within the limits of the City of LaPorte, consisting of more <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />than ten acres and complying in all respects with the requirements <br /> <br />of Art. 973 of Vernon's Revised Civil Statutes, should be discon- <br /> <br />tinued and disannexed from the City of LaPorte; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAPORTE: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described territory be <br /> <br />and the same is hereby discontinued and disannexed from the City of <br /> <br />LaPorte; and that the boundary limits of the City of LaPorte be and <br /> <br />the same are hereby amended to exclude such described territory from <br /> <br />the city limits of the City of LaPorte, and that the same shall not <br /> <br />hereafter be included within the territorial limits of the said city, <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />and the inhabitants thereof shall no longer be governed by the acts, <br /> <br />ordinances, resolutions and regulations of said city. That the <br /> <br />territory discontinued and disannexed herein, consisting of more <br /> <br />than ten acres, is described as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br />TRACT NO.1: <br /> <br />BEGINNING at a point in the South ROW line of Spencer Highway <br />located 500' West from the point of intersection of the South <br />ROW line of Spencer Highway with the East ROW line of Under- <br />wood Road; <br /> <br />THENCE due North to the North right-of-way line of Spencer <br />Highway and the present city limits of the City of Houston; <br /> <br />THENCE Westerly along the North ROW line of Spencer Highway <br />right-of-way and along the present city limits of the said <br />City of Houston to the point where the same intersects the <br />Western boundary line of LaPorte Independent School District; <br /> <br />.. <br />
