ORDINANCE NO.~ AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE SAID CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY, GRANTING TO ALL INHABITANTS AND OWNERS OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS, BINDING SAID INHABITANTS BY ALL THE ACTS, ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS AND REGULATIONS OF THE SAID CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, RESERVING AND PRESERVING ALL RIGHTS, POWERS AND DUTIES AS TO TERRITORY INCLUDED IN ORDINANCE NO. 587 NOT . INCLUDED WITHIN THIS ORDINANCE AND PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE. WHEREAS, The City of La Porte has heretofore adopted a Home Rule Charter authorizing it to annex territory and to extend the corporate limits of said city by action of the City Commission; and, WHEREAS, the hereinafter described land is adjacent to the present city limits of the City of La Porte and the members of the City Commission of the City of La Porte have concluded that said area should be annexed and made a part of the City of La Porte, Texas; . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CO~4ISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS: . SECTION 1. That the following described territory be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of La Porte, Texas, and the boundary limits of the City of La Porte be, and the same are hereby extended to include the following described territory within the city limits of the City of La Porte, and the same shall hereafter be included within the territorial limits of said city, and the inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all rights and privileges of other citizens of the ?City of La Porte, and they shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of said city. That the territory to be so annexed is more particularly described as follows, to-wit:
