, ..r...,. .. . .....--. . ,,--. ~.. . ---- -.. . . . - 3 - THENCE West, a distance of 551. 39 feet to an iron rod for corner; THENCE North 00 07' West, a distance of 790 feet, to an iron rod in the South Right-of-way of Strang Road; THENCE in a Westerly direction along the South Right-of- way of Strang Road, a distance of 2, 990 feet, more or less, to the intersection of the South Right-of-way line of Strang Road, and the North Right-of-way line of Texas State High- way No. 225; THENCE in a Northwesterly direction along the North Right- of-way line of Texas State Highway No. 225 to the Place of Beginning. ' SECTION 2. The City Commission of The City of La Porte hereby reserves and preserves the rights, powers, duties and effect of prior ordi- nances and in no way releases nor relinquishes any part or portion of the territory therein annexed. SECTION .3.Should any portion of the territory sought to be annexed herein not be subject to annexation by the City of La Porte, then it is the intention of the City Commission of the City of La Porte to annex only such portion of said area as may be legally subject to annexation by the City of La Porte, and the fact that a portion of said area may not legally be subject to annexation by said City shall not affect the validity of the annexation of the remaining portions of said territory, it being the intention of the City Commission to annex all or such portions of the above described area as it may legally annex. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and publication as the Charter in such cases provided.
