ORDINANCE NO. 7 lJ AN ORDINANCE VACATING~ ABANDONING AND CLOSING THAT PORTION OF SAN JACINTO AVENUE AND PARK AVENUE ~YING CONTIGUOUS TO LOT SIXTEEN (16) ~ BLOCK FIFTY (50) ~ SYLVAN BEACH FIRST SUBDIVISION ~ HARRIS COUNTY~ TEXAS~ SAID PORTION TO BE ABANDONED BEING PARTICULARLY DESCRmED BY METES AND BOUNDS. WHEREAS~ the City Commission of the City of La Porte has been requested by the record owner of Lot Sixteen (16)~ Block Fifty (50)~ Sylvan Beach First Subdivision~ Harris County~ Texas~ to vacate~ abandon~ and permanently close that certain portion of San Jacinto Avenue and Park Avenue~ contiguous to said Lot Sixteen (16)~ Block Fifty (50)~ Sylvan Beach First ~~ Subdivision~ as more fully hereinafter described by metes and bounds; and '.' ';., , ., J' ' WHEREAS~ that certain portion of said San Jacinto Ave- nue and said Park Avenue~ hereinafter described, although presently a part of a dedicated right-of-way of said public streets within the City of La Porte, has never been actually physically opened or used as a public road, street, or for any other purposes; and WHEREAS, the hereinafter ,.idescribed portion of the dedicated rights-of-way of San Jacin'to Avenue and Park Avenue is not now needed as part of the said rights-of-way, and will not be so needed in the future; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte has determined, and does hereby find, determine and declare, that the hereinafter described portion of San Jacinto Avenue and Park Avenue is not suitable, needed or beneficial to the public as a public road or street, and that the closing of the hereinafter described portion of said streets would be for the protection of the public and for the public benefit, and that said portion of said stFeets should be vacated, abandoned : ' and permanently closed; tr'-' ,....' ,. .... .- , " / " NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, THAT:
