<br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />f.~ <br />:- <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br />and further notice of said election shall be given by posting a <br />copy of this Ordinance at the City Hall for thirty (30) days <br /> <br />next preceding said election. <br />Section 7. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and <br /> <br />. '. <br /> <br />directed to give notice of said election in accordance with <br />Section 6 hereof. <br />Section 8. Upon a candidate tendering his application <br />on the form prescribed, the City Clerk shall furnish to such <br />candidate all information relative to the qualifications for the <br />office being sought; the method of placing the candidate's name <br />"_ on the ballot; the amount of the required filing fee; and any <br />other pertinent information concerning said election. <br /> <br />Section 9. The deadline for a candidate to make <br />application to have his name appear upon the ballot for such <br />election, is hereby designated and established as five o'clock <br />(5:00) P.M. on Saturday, March 26, 1966, and the City Clerk of <br />the City of La Porte is hereby directed to open office on said <br />date, for the sole purpose of receiving any such applications as <br /> <br />may be filed before said d_dline. The filing fee for each <br />candidate for the office of Commissioner is hereby established <br />at Fifty Dollars ($50.00), and the filing fee for Mayor is hereby <br />tit established at the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00). The <br /> <br />filing fees shall be used to defray the cost of the election, <br />and said fees shall be pro-rated and any surplus shall be refunded <br />to said candidates. <br /> <br />Section 10. Said election shall be held in accordance <br /> <br />with the provisions of the City Charter of the O~ty of La Porte, <br />and the general election laws of the State of Texas governing <br />general and municipal el~ctions, so far as same may be applicable <br />thereto. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Section 11. Each and every provision, paragraph, <br />sentence and clause of this Ordinance has been separately con- <br />sidered and passed by the City Commission of the City of La Porte, <br />Texas, and each said provision would have been separately passed <br /> <br />~ <br />
