<br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />4It <br /> <br />.' <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />-3- <br />and furtner notice of said election shall be given by posti~g a <br />copy of this Ordinance at the City Hall for thirty (30) days <br />next preceding said election. <br />Section 7. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and <br />directed to, give notice of said election in accordance with <br />Section 6 hereof. <br />Section 8. Upon a candidate tendering his application <br />on the form prescribed, the City Clerk shall furnish to such <br />candidate, all information relative to the qualifications for the <br />office being sought; the method of placi~g the candidate's name <br />on the ballot; the amoUnt of the required fili~g fee; and any <br />other pertinent information concerni~g said election. <br />Section 9. The deadline for a candidate to make <br />application to have his name appear upon the ballot for such <br />election, is hereby des~gnated and established as five o'clock <br />(5:00) P.M. on Saturday, March 25, 1967, and the C~ty Clerk of <br />the City of La Porte is hereby directed to open office on said <br />date, for the sole purpose of receivi~g any such applications as <br />may be filed before sa:id deadline. The fili~g fee for each <br />candidate for the, office of Commissioner is hereby established <br />at Fifty ,Dollars ($~O.OO). The fili~g fees shall be used to defray <br />the cost of the election, and said fees shall be pro-rated and <br />any surplus shall be refunded to said candidates. <br />Section 10. Said election shall be held in accordance <br />with the provisions of the City Charter of the City of La Porte, <br />and the. general election laws of the State of Texas governing <br />,general and municipal elections, so far as same may be applicable <br />thereto. <br /> <br />Section II. Each and every provision, paragraph, <br />sentence and clause of this Ordinance has been separately con- <br />sidered and passed by the City Commission of the City of La Porte, <br />
