<br />It <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />761 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE CALLING AN ELECTION IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE ON THZ <br />QUESTION O~ WHETHER TEE CITY SHALL ENTER INTO A COOPERATION AGREE- <br />MENT WITH THE CITY'S PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITY; DESIGNATING AN <br />ELECTION PRECINCT AND A POLLING PLACE; PROVIDING FOR THE USE OF <br />VOTING MACHINES; APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICIALS; PROVIDING FOR <br />METHOD AND DATES OF ABSENTEE VOTING; PROVIDING FOR RETURN &~D <br />CANVASS OF VOTES OF SAID ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR NOTICE; PROVIDING <br />FOR FO~l OF PROPOSITION ON BALLOT; DECLARING LAW APPLICABLE TO <br />SAID ELECTION; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING l~ <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COlfMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, <br />TEXAS, THAT: <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Commission of the City of La Porte <br /> <br />hereby determines on its own motion that an election shall be <br /> <br />held within the corporate limits of the City of La Porte, Texas, <br /> <br />on the 1st day of April, 1967, between seven o'clock (7:00) A.M. <br /> <br />and seven o'clock (7:00) P.M., on the question of whether or not <br />the City Commission of the City of La Porte shall enter into a <br />cooperation agreement with the City of La Porte Public Housing <br /> <br />Authority. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Commission of the City of La Porte <br /> <br />hereby designates and establishes all of the area encompassed <br />within the corporate limits of the City of La Porte, as one <br />e election precinct for this election, and the City Hall of the City <br />of La Porte is designated as the one polling place for such <br />election. Voting machines shall be used in the conduct of such <br /> <br />election. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Mrs. H. M. RaLston <br /> <br />is hereby <br /> <br />appointed Presiding Judge of said election, and <br />Mrs. Otis Harrison is hereby appointed Alternate Presiding Judge <br /> <br />of said election. The maximum number of clerks which may be <br /> <br />appointed to serve at said election is three (3), who shall be <br />selected by t~e Presiding Judge or the Alternate Presiding Judge, <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />as the case may be. <br />section 4. Absentee voting by personal ap~earance shall <br /> <br />begin on the 20th day and shall continue through the 4th day <br />
