Absentee voting shall be conducted by the City Clerk at the same place as provided in Section 2 hereof. Voti~g machines shall be used for the casting of absentee votes, at such election. The City Clerk shall not permit anyone to vote absentee by personal appearance on any day which is not a r~gular worki~g day for the Clerk's office, or at any time when the Clerk's office is not open to the public. The City Clerk of the City ,of La Porte is hereby authorized and directed to appoint deputy absentee balloti~g clerks, as necessary. Section, 5. ~hat said election shall be held in accordance with the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, and all duly qualified resident electors of the City of La Porte, Texas, shall be qualified to vote. Section 6. That the ballots of said election shall conform to the requirements of Section 2, Subsection G, of Article 1066c, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes (Acts 1967, 60th Legislature, R~gular Session, Chapter 36, P~ge 62), and to the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Election Code of the State of Texas, as amended, and the langu~ge to be printed thereon shall include the following: "FOR adoption of a one per cent (1%) local sales and use tax within the city."
