<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />ELECTRIC CODE <br /> <br />PAGE 18 <br /> <br />(b) On all installations where wiring, apparatus, devices, <br />appliances, fixtures or equipment are added to previous installations, <br />or where changes are. made on wiring, apparatus, devices, appliances, <br />fixtures or equipment, the permit for such installations or changes <br />shall be delivered to the person for whom the installation is to be <br />made or posted on the building or structure as directed by the <br />Inspector before the installation or change is started. <br /> <br />Part 2 <br /> <br />EXCEPTIONS TO NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE <br /> <br />V. <br />MATERIALS <br /> <br />5.01 Aluminum Conductors. Aluminum conductors may not be used <br />in any wiring within buildings, nor in any underground service <br />conductors. Aluminum conductors may only be used as outside aerial <br />conductors from a weatherhead to a pole; from a pole to a pole; and <br />from a weatherhead to a weatherhead. <br /> <br />~.02 Conduit in Commercial Buildings. Wiring in all commercial <br />or combination commercial and residential buildings shall be enclosed <br />in rigid conduit or metallic tubing. For the purpose of this Section <br />5.02, hotels and motels shall be considered to be commercial <br />buildings. <br /> <br />S.O~ Residential Capacity and Branch Circuits. <br /> <br />(a) New residences of less than one thousand and fifty (1050) <br />square feet living area (excluding attached garages), shall have <br />service entrance capacity of not less than three (3) 1#3 copper and <br />branch circuit facilities of not less than seven (7) overcurrent <br />devices, one (1) of which must be left unused as a spare. <br /> <br />(b) New residences of one thousand and fifty (1050) or more <br />square feet of living area (excluding attached garages), shall have <br />serv ice entrance capac i ty of not less than three (3) /12 copper and <br />branch circuit facilities of not less than ten (10) overcurrent <br />devices, two (2) of which must be left unused as spares. <br /> <br />(c) All underground services shall be installed in Schedule 40 <br />conduit. <br />
