<br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ELECTRIC CODE <br /> <br />PAGE 19 <br /> <br />~.04 Window Air Conditioners and Space Heaters. Branch circuit <br />wiring for window air conditioning units or resistance type space <br />heaters shall not be smaller than #12 AWG. copper wire or its <br />equivalent and not more than one (1) air conditioning unit or air <br />conditioning receptacle shall be installed on anyone (1) single or <br />multi-wire branch circuit. <br /> <br />~.O~ Wiring within Buildings. Non-metallic sheathed cable shall <br />be used only for residential work, and apartment houses. Conductors <br />in or on all tile and masonry walls of such buildings shall be encased <br />in rigid conduit or electrical metallic tubing. Minimum size <br />non-metallic sheathed cable shall be limited to #12 AWG except #14 AWG <br />may be used for switch legs when the load is less than five hundred <br />(500) watts. <br /> <br />Flexible metallic cable shall not be used underground or embedded <br />in concrete. <br /> <br />~.06 Ground Contact. Electrical Metallic Tubing, Intermediate <br />Metallic Tubing, and Sheet Metal Boxes shall not be used in contact <br />with earth. <br /> <br />VI. <br />INSTALLATION <br /> <br />6.01 Meter Cabinets. <br /> <br />(a) The meter cabinets and electrical metering equipment through <br />which service is rendered by the electric public service company to <br />domestic establishments and buildings combining domestic <br />establishments with commercial or industrial usage, shall be installed <br />where readily accessible on the exterior of the building. Meter <br />cabinets or meter sockets shall be supplied by the electric public <br />service company and installed by the master electrician performing the <br />work, and meter cabinets to be located so the center of the opening <br />for the meter dial shall be not less than five feet (5') nor more than <br />six feet (6') above mean ground level, and to be readily accessible to <br />the electric public service company to service. On apartment <br />buildings, where space limitations will not permit placing all meters <br />at the same height, they may be arranged in two (2) tiers, with the <br />openings for the meter dials in lower tier as near as practicable to <br />five feet (5') above mean ground level and second tier placed as near <br />as practicable above the first. Where space limitations will not <br />permit placing of meter cabinets as outlined above, the electric <br />public service company, subject to the approval of the Inspector, <br />
