<br />e <br /> <br />City of La Porte <br />Personnel Policies <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Regular full time employ~es will be paid one work day's pay for each holiday. To be <br />eligible for holiday pay, the employee must work the scheduled work days preceding and <br />following the holiday unless an excused absence exists, as approved by the Department <br />Director. <br /> <br />Employees scheduled to work on a holiday, and who fail to work as scheduled, without <br />an excused absence, will not be eligible for holiday pay. An employee required to work <br />on a holiday will receive the holiday pay plus the overtime rate of one and one half times <br />the regular rate of pay for hours worked. <br /> <br />Official City holidays shall be considered the same number of hours as an employee's <br />regular work day. <br /> <br />SECTION 6 - VACATION LEAVE <br /> <br />The following applies for vacation leave: <br /> <br />1. Regular full time employees shall accrue vacation leave, by the hour, <br />each pay period. <br />2. A regular full time employee must be employed by the City for seven (7) <br />months and must have successfully,completed any introductory period <br />before being eligible to use accrued vacation. <br />3. Vacation leave shall be scheduled with the employee's supervisor as far <br />in advance as possible. Use of vacation leave shall be at the <br />convenience of the employee. However, vacation leave will not be <br />allowed to interfere with the normal functions of City operations. Should <br />there be a conflict between one or more employees regarding the dates <br />of vacation leave, preference may be given to the employee with the <br />longest length of service with the City. <br />4. Vacation leave is accrued as follows: <br />A.
