CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Thc~ meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman L. Malone at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Norman L. Malone, Councilpersons <br />Chuck Engelken, Howard Ebow, Bob McLaughlin, Deotis Gay, Jack Maxwell <br />and Jerry Clarke. <br /> <br />Members of Council Absent: Councilpersons Guy Sutherland and AIton Porter. <br /> <br />Members of City Executive Staff and City Employees Present: City Manager <br />Robert T. Herrera, Assistant City Manager John Joerns, Assistant City Manager <br />Jeff Litchfield, City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Martha Gillett, City <br />Engineer Doug Kneupper and Fire Marshal Paul Hickenbottom. <br /> <br />Othc~rs Present: Joe Camp and Steve Valarius <br /> <br />2. INVOCA nON - MAYOR NORMAN MAWNE <br /> <br />Mayor Norman L. Malone delivered the invocation. <br /> <br />3. PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND <br />CITIZENS AND TAX PAYERS WISHING TO ADDRESS COUNCIL <br /> <br />Stev(~ Valarius, 140 Hazel Street, La Porte, Texas addressed City Council <br />regarding its decision at the last meeting for failing to accept the Dolphin <br />Pilings. Mr. Valarius pointed out to Council that the pilings would prevent <br />dama.ge to the pier, and requested Council to reconsider this matter. <br /> <br />4. CONSIDER APPROVAL OR 01HR ACTION REGARDING AN <br />ORDINANCE TO CLOSE, V ACA TE, AND ABANDON THE ALLEY OF <br />BWCK 117, TOWN OF LA PORTE, THE EST "E" STREET RIGHT- <br />OF..VV A Y BETWEEN BWCKS 117 & 124, AND THE NORTHERNMOST <br />40 FI~ET OF THE WEST "F" STREET RIGHT -OF- WAY BETWEEN <br />SOUTH 8TH STREET AND STATE HIGHWAY 146 RETAINING <br />V AR][OUS UTILITY EASEMENTS (Ord. 98-2228) R.
