When an employee is under the physical report status provision of the sick <br />leave policy. <br /> <br />4. Unexcused Absence <br /> <br />Unexcused absence may be defined as follows. This list is not intended to be all- <br />inclusive: <br /> <br />1. Tardiness <br />2. Unverified sick time <br />3. Unauthorized time off <br />4. Failure to call supervisor within fifteen minutes after the start of the <br />employee's scheduled work time. <br /> <br />5. Repeated Unexcused Absences <br /> <br />Employees repeatedly incurring unexcused absences shall be subject to <br />disciplinary action up to and including termination. <br /> <br />Unexcused absences from work for a period of 3 full consecutive working days <br />shall be considered as a voluntary resignation. Twenty-four hour shift personnel <br />with unexcused absences of 2 consecutive shifts shall be considered as a <br />voluntary resignation. <br /> <br />6. Holidays <br /> <br />The following is a list of approved holidays: <br /> <br />New Year's Day <br />Good Friday <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Thanksgiving <br />Christmas Eve <br />Christmas Day <br />Employee Discretionary Day <br /> <br />January 1 <br />Friday before Easter <br />Last Monday in May <br />July4 <br />First Monday in September <br />Fourth Thursday & Friday in November <br />December 24 <br />December 25 <br />Designated by Employee <br /> <br />If an official City holiday occurs on a Saturday, it will be observed on the Friday <br />before.
