<br />MINUTES OF THE DRAINAGE AND FLOODING COMMITTEE <br />October 13,2008 <br /> <br />1. Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mike Mosteit at 5:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Committee Members Present: Council Members: Chairman Mike Mosteit, Vice Chairman <br />Mike Clausen, Committee Members Chuck Engelken, and Tommy Moser. <br /> <br />Committee Members Absent: Howard Ebow <br /> <br />Other Council members Present: None <br /> <br />Members of City Employees Present: Assistant City Secretary Sharon Harris, City Manager <br />Ron Bottoms, Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Suggs, Director of Public Works <br />Steve Gillett, Director of Planning Tim Tietjens, Assistant City Manager John Joerns, and <br />City Engineer Rodney Slaton. <br /> <br />Others present: Bill Scott, Jorge Gutierrez, Gary Struzick, Charles Nute, Sue Gale Mock <br />Kooken, Richard Winn, Charles Rothmund, Ted Powell, Kathryn Aguilar, David Janda, and <br />Joe Bertuglia. <br /> <br />2. Consider approval of Minutes of Drainage and Flooding Committee Meeting held on June <br />23,2008 <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee member Engelken to approve the minutes as presented. A <br />second by Committee Member Clausen. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Tommy Moser, Mike Mosteit, Mike Clausen, and Chuck Engelken <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />Absent: Howard Ebow <br /> <br />3. Petitions, Remonstrance's, communications, and citizens and taxpayers wishing to address <br />the Drainage and Flooding Committee <br /> <br />Bill Scott 1722 Lomax School Road - addressed the committee with drainage and flooding <br />concerns. <br /> <br />4. Discuss City Wide Drainage Report #3 and consider making possible recommendations to <br />La Porte City Council <br /> <br />Gary Struzick with Klotz and Associates presented a summary and recommendation of the <br />City Wide Drainage Report #3 to the committee and answered questions. <br /> <br />Mr. Struzick informed the committee the due date for the final report is January 19,2009. <br /> <br />5. Receive Draft Report on Repetitive Loss Area Analysis #7 (Brookglen Subdivision) from <br />the University of New Orleans Center for Hazards Assessment, Response and Technology <br />
