Broadway, legally described as Lot 27 and the
N1/2 of Lot 26, in Block 37, Town of La Porte, Harris County,
Texas.

Dear Susan:

The City of La Porte has accepted a donation of the above described
real property, which is located at 110 S. Broadway in La Porte.
The property is vacant lots.

I enclose copy of my letter of May 3, 2005, to City staff, which
tells the story on this property. The City has elected to go with
option 1, on page 2, of the letter.

Please prepare and forward to me for review, a bid notice on this
property. The only difference from other bid notices will be that
the title to this property is not insurable, and I will need to
revise the paragraph about title insurance. The City will convey
by Special Warranty Deed.

I also enclose a copy of an abstracter's report which I obtained on
this property, which showed title in Rex J. Baker, Jr., who was the
father of the two grantors on the deed to the City, Barbara A.
Warnock and Mae B. Kelly.

As Mr. Fred Westergren is the likely bidder on this property, I
would suggest that you meet with him and determine a minimum
acceptable bid on the property. The HCAD valuation is $4,630.00.
This is about $1.00 per square foot. Of course, the HCAD valuation
assumes marketable title.

Then, when the bid notice is complete, we need to set a schedule to
publish it in the Bayshore Sun, and thereafter to place an
ordinance approving a bid, on a City Council agenda.
