Garza
Senior Engineer Julian Garza provided a Preliminary Engineering Design Report for Taylor Bayou.
Vice Chairman Clausen questioned if the restriction at McCabe Road was restricting water from going up the channel. Senior
Engineer Julian Garza responded the restriction was downstream.
Committee member Engelken commented there should be other means to drain water out of Shady River. Planning Director
Tim Tietjens responded with the Oakhurst project it took a considerable amount of flow that was near the east side of Shady
River off the system and a good portion of flow what was coming down exclusively to the east tributary of Taylor Bayou is now
going directly to the bay.
Council member Martin questioned Senior Engineer Julian Garza if there was a timeline for involvement of Harris County
Precinct Two and Harris County Flood Control District on the restriction at McCabe Road.
