2030 Comprehensive Plan <br />In Priority #13 (out of 16) of the 2030 Comprehensive Plan, City Council directed staff to: <br />Establish a small business incubator site within the City in coordination with San Jacinto <br /> <br />locating the site in Downtown or near San Jacinto College <br />Comments: <br /> <br />1.Hosting a business incubator can be expensive (utilities, rent, personnel, equipment, administration). <br />2.The San Jacinto College Small Business Development Center at 203 Ivy Drive in Deer Park already <br />supports and offers training and counseling to the prospective new business owners and <br />entrepreneurs in our community. <br />3.Rather than investing in a separate small business development center, consider setting aside funds <br /> <br /> <br />1.The project principal(s) have attended and completed SBDC training. <br /> <br />2.The project principal(s) have developed a full business plan that has been approved by the <br /> <br />SBDC. <br />3.The project has received financing from the Small Business Administration. <br /> <br />4.The project principal(s) are planning to invest a portion of their own funds into the project (at <br /> <br />least $10,000 or 10% of the project). <br />5.The new business enterprise represents something that the community of La Porte wants to <br /> <br />welcome to the community. <br /> <br />Note: <br />including cash grants for equipment, rent, or startup capital, sales tax rebates, or <br /> property tax rebates in lieu of tax abatement. ğŅƷĻƩ <br /> considering all the other sources of funding including, but not limited to, the SBA, <br /> <br /> contribution. <br />Northside Plan <br /> <br />
