• City Council Meeting, Monday, August 26, 2019 <br />(Items 8-9 were handled on August 12, 2019.) <br />10. COUNCIL COMMENTS regarding matters appearing on the agenda; recognition of community members, <br />city employees, and upcoming events; inquiry of staff regarding specific factual information or existing <br />policies. <br />Councilmembers thanked staff for the excellent job they have done on the budget; congratulated Mr. Mayo on his <br />promotion; requested a report on the tax services used for City tax collections; asked for an update on water bill <br />donations; reminded all of the blood drive tomorrow at the Methodist Church; thanked LPPD for Safety Camp; <br />expressed gratitude to Mr. Dolby for his conservative management of the City's funds and to City staff for a job <br />well done on the budget over the last several months; lauded Parks for the Kids Rodeo; recognized LPPD for the <br />LPPD Citizens' Police Academies and the DWI Awareness presentation given recently at Municipal Court; asked <br />that all keep last Friday's Sylvan Beach drowning victims in mind, as well as the first responders who serve in so <br />many such tragic incidents; expressed appreciation for the revised budget process; shared thanks for Grace <br />Church's recent government appreciation services; and thanked the Chamber for their new teachers' luncheon. <br />ADJOURN — Without objection, Mayor Rigby adjourned the meeting at 9:24 p.m. <br />Lee Woodward, City Secretary <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />August 12, 2019, Council Meeting Minutes <br />
