• <br />MINUTES - P,EGULAR MEETING <br />LA PORT E CITY C OMt~IS S I ON - JULY 6TH, 1956 <br />l~:3o P. M. <br />R®gular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by <br />Mayor M. D. Burgin, with the following members and city officials <br />present: Commissioner H. P. Pfeiffer, Special Counsel Jno. S. Kiibler, <br />City Clerk Frank G. Baker, and Supt. of Works ~+. A. Arthur. <br />Also present were Cliff Hyde, Mrs. Hyde, Mr. Petty, Mr. Patton representing <br />Dickey Clay Pipe Company, Mr. P~~uller of the Baytown Sun, Chas. Brown, <br />Mrs. w. A• Stabs, Mr. McOabe of the Houston Shell & Concrete Company, <br />Mr. Arnold of the Magnolia Petroleum Corp., Chester Rodgers, and a repre- <br />sentative of the Fredrick Contracting Company. <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />Motion by Pfeiffer, second by Burgin, that Ordinance No. 501 b® adopted as <br />read. The caption of such adopted Ordinance reads as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE CONFIRP~4ING THE SALE OF A LAND LEASE ON A PORTION OF THE <br />LA PORTS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT TO CLIFF HYDE FLYING SERVICE, INC. AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF SUCH LEASE. <br />Carried. <br />B. L. Eldridgets contract was discussed at length by Commission and parties <br />interested. No action was taken at this time. <br />Motion by Pfeiffer, second by Burgin, that the following Resolution be <br />adopted: <br />RESOLUTION <br />STATE OF TEXAS <br />COUNTY"OF HARRIS X <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LA PORTS TO BORROZ'V THE SUM OF TEN <br />THOUSAND DOLLARS (ffi10,000.00), TO BE EVIDENCED BY TAg ANTICIPATION NOTE, <br />PAYABLE OUT OF CURRENT TAXES COLLECTED DURING THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING <br />JULY 1, 1956 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1957• <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Commission of the <br />City of La Porte that a necessity exists to borrow the sum of Ten Thousand <br />Dollars 010,000.00), for g©neral ddministrative purposes and that the <br />anticipated current revenue from ad valorem taxes will amount to a proximately <br />Ninety Thousand One Hundred Sixteen and 86100 Dollars (~90,116.86~; and <br />WHEREAS, the First National Bank of La Porte, Texas has agreed to <br />make the City a loan in said sum, to be paid, with three per cent, (3%) per <br />annum interest thereon, on or b afore the 15th day of February, A.
