Commissioner Dunham made a motion <br />seconded by Commissioner Stabs that Ordinance No. <br />553 be passed on final reading. Motion carried. <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELE- <br />PHONE COMPANY TO DISCONTINUE FOUR-PARTY RESIDENCE <br />SERVICE IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS. <br />* * # <br />50. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 486-~ <br />RATES ON S. W. BELL <br />TELEPHONE <br />ORDINANCE NO. 663, <br />DISCONTINUE 4-PARTY <br />SERVICE WITH S.W.B. <br />5. Motion was made by Commissioner AUTHORIBAT ION To <br />Dunham, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that City SET UP EMPLOYEES <br />Administrator, Clovis D. Mann, be authorized to SAVINGS CLUB. <br />make arrangements whereby employees may voluntar- <br />ily have a portion of their pay withheld; such <br />procedures to be known as City Employee's Christ- <br />mas Club; further, that provisions be made whereby <br />the employee may withdraw his savings, in part or <br />whole, at his discretion; Further, that Mr. Mann <br />be authorized to deposit such monies in a savings <br />account, bank, or Savings and Loan, if such should <br />be to the advantage of the employee. Motion carried. <br />* * ~ <br />6. Motion was made by Commissioner Stabs A(/HTORIZATION To <br />seconded by Commissioner Brown that City Administrator, <br />Clovis D. Mann, be authorized to trade-in the old PURCHASE NEW THERMC <br />Thermo-fax machine for a new Thermo-fax, paying the FAX MACHINE. <br />difference of two hundred fifty dollars ($ 250.00). <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />'7. Report was made on the results of the STUDY OF BIDS ON <br />study of the bids on a Garbage Truck and body. NEW GARBAGE TRUCK <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Dun- <br />ham, and seconded by Commissioner Osburn, that the <br />City accept the following bids, and that purchase be <br />authorized: <br />Truck - Jay Marks Chevrolet $ 3,530.'75 <br />(Plus Freight) <br />Body -Pak-Mor Company 3,850.00 <br />Motion carried. <br />
