City GRASS AT A/RPORT. <br />Attorney Pitman was requested to prepare the necessary <br />contract, to be ratified at the next regular meeting <br />of the City Commission. <br /> <br />4. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded <br />by Commissioner Baker, that the invoices from the La Porte <br />Lumber Company, in the amount of ~` 50.98, be authorized <br />for payment, as the purchase of the materials occured before <br />Commissioner Shepherd, owner of the La Porte Lumber Company, <br />was elected to the Board of Commissioners. Motion carried <br />with Commissioner Shepherd abstaintng from voting. <br /> <br />AUTHOR l Z lNG PAYMf NT <br />FOR INVOICES FROM <br />LA FORTE LUMBER COMP- <br />ANY. <br />5. Commissioner Baker made a motton, seconded APPOINTMENT OF H. F. <br />by Commissioner Osburn, that Chief of Police Herbert F. FREEMAN AS CIV/L <br />Freeman be appointed Civil Defense Otrector. Motion carried. DEFENSE D/RECTOR. <br />The City Attorney to prepare the necessary ordinance for the <br />next meeting. <br />* s <br />• 6. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded POSTPONEMENT OF OPEN- <br />by Commissioner Osburn, that the receipt and Opening of ING OF BIDS ON: <br />Bids on the sale of Block 4, Bay front Addition, and Back-hoe BLOCK 4, BAYFRONT <br />Tractor, scheduled for June 7, 1963, be postponed to June TRACTOR W/BACKNOE <br />17, 1963. Motion carried. <br /> <br />7. Commissioner Baker made a motton, seconded EMPLOYMENT OF C. W. <br />by Commissioner Shepherd, that Mr. C. W. Suesse, Certified SUESSE, FOR ANNUAL <br />Public Accountant, be employed to prepare the Annual Audit AUD/T. <br />of the City's books for the end of the FtscaL Year 1962-63, <br />in accordance with the agreement attached herewith, as <br />Exhibit No. 1. Motion carried. <br /> <br />8. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded AUTHORIZATION f-OR <br />by Commissioner Osburn, that the City Engineer be authorized CITY ENGINEER TO EM- <br />to employ four (4) additional men; one on a permanent basis PLOY 4 ADDITONAL MEN. <br />and three temporarily for summer work. Motion carried. <br /> <br />9. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded <br />by Commissioner Shepherd, that the employment of Richard <br />• Gates., as Dog Catcher, at the rate of ,~ 1.40 per hour, be <br />approved; rate effective immediately, and further that the <br />rate of pay for Otis McKnight be raised to ,~ 1.40 per hour, <br />effective immediately.
