927. <br />• • <br />• Due consideration was given by the Commission <br />in which it was pointed out that past experiences with such <br />arrangements had been unsatisfactory. Commissioner Stabs <br />made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Osborn, that the <br />request be denied. Motion carried. <br />~ ~ <br />4. Ordinance No. 686, passed on first reading <br />on September 23, 9963, granting a Franchise to the United <br />Gas Company to do business in the city of La Porte, was <br />passed on second and final reading in accordance with a <br />motion by Commissioner Osborn, seconded by Commissioner <br />Shepherd; motion carrying by unanimous vote. The required <br />publications have been made. Franchise to be effective <br />sixty (60) days from this date. <br /> <br /> <br />5. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded <br />by Commissioner Osborn, that Invoice No. 25, from Walter <br />A. Smith Paving Contractor to the amount of three thou- <br />sand five hundred eighty-nine dollars and ninety-two cents <br />(~ 3,589.92) for seal coating of certain streets. /`%otion <br />carried. The work was approved by the City Engineer, and <br />Invoice is in accordance with contract. <br />ORDINANCE N0. 686, <br />PASSED ON FINAL RDG. <br />(UN. GAS FRA~`VCH l SE) <br />AUTHORIZATION TO <br />PAY W. A. SMITH <br />COrJTR. $ 3, 589.92 <br /> <br /> 6. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded P. O. TO PAK-MOR MFG <br />by Commissioner Shepherd that Purchase Order No. 382, in CO. AFF'ROVED. <br />the amount of one hundred twenty-one dollars and five cents, (SPROCKET SET) <br />(~ 121.05) to Pak-M,or Manufacturing Company, for a complete <br />spr ocket set be approved. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> 7. Motion made by Commissioner Baker, seconded APPROVAL OF ACCOUNTS <br />b~ Commissi ner Osborn, that the following accounts payable PAYABLE <br />be approved and paid.
